Abstract
This document is the final report of the SET-053 Task Group: it deals with the evaluation of automatic recognition/identification algorithms on SAR imagery (SAR ATR). This document presents the first initiative of a friendly, constructive and high level discussion among SAR ATR specialists from more than 10 NATO countries and organisations. Various classification algorithms were investigated and evaluated using the same evaluation methods and ground targets datasets. These evaluations lead to a better understanding of the methods and their performances to classify targets.
