Abstract

Fuel cell systems are regarded to be a promising solution for future electrical energy generation on board of commercial aircrafts. In addition to an improved efficiency such systems offer the opportunity of producing water usable for on-board purposes and provide additional functions like inertization of the tank. We present a evaluation and assessment of different system architectures as well as experimental results under low pressure operation. Also complete system modeling is presented and the dynamic system behavior is analyzed.
