Abstract
The terahertz spectral range is considered to be the least explored portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. In resent years several technological breakthroughs have paved the way for applying THz technology in the fields of security, material research, non-destructive testing, biomedicine, and broadband commuication. In this contribution terahertz applications will be reviewed and the implications for terahertz radiometry will be discussed.
