Abstract
A summary is given on different international initiatives to stimulate and support cooperation at the development and application of particle image velocimetry. Some details of running activities to standardize and assess the recording and evaluation process at PIV are presented. Possibilities to expand international cooperation at PIV are discussed. The Internet access of the different activities is listed.
