Abstract
The estimation of Net Primary Production is of great impoartance when trying to better understand the global carbon cycle, especially in the context of international environmental treaty monitoring.... In this presentation several of the NPP estimation methodologies that are currently in use will be described, as will the plans for selection of the method, or combination of methods, that could be adopted for an operational product. Other issues concerning the development of an operational system, such as spatial and temporal interpolation of input data, process validation, and implementation, will also be addressed
