Abstract

The problems of professional diving and the activities of astronauts are similar. Human beings are not designed during the evolution to withstand those hostile environment like space and deep sea without sophisticated help. As all in our world, they have to follow the natural laws like: the force of gravity and the physical laws of Newton, the need of a special amount of Oxygen and the allover laws of gases and diffusion. The help, we can give the astronaut, is knowledge, training, profound experience and technical devices. But in spite of this, the risk of an incident will be present all the time. The better we know the risk, the more we are prepared. This course tries to demonstrate possible critical points during diving and EVA. They are: loss of oxygen, loss of pressure, loss of balance control, pollution of the air, decompression sickness and all prebreathing projects, motion sickness, space debris and radeation.
