Understanding of single cell behavior by experimentally based simulation

Knöri, Torsten and Schulze, Mathias and Gülzow, Erich (2005) Understanding of single cell behavior by experimentally based simulation. In: Conference proceedings. Gordon Conference: Fuel Cells, 2005-07-17 - 2005-07-22, Smithfield, RI (USA).

Abstract

The combination of experimental investigations - in particular locally resolved current density distribution and current-voltages curves - of fuel cells with various flow fields with a simple modeling allows a detailed insight into the various operation conditions. The model yields local partial pressures, humidification and gas speeds inside the cell depending on the external operation conditions and the measured current density distribution. As a result optimization strategies can be developed.
