Abstract
Future lander and rover missions heavily rely on the availability of existing data for selecting appropriate landing sites, for risk assessment and avoidance, and operations. HRSC on Mars Express is providing an extended data set of high resolution, topographic and multispectral information which is bridging the gap between highest resolution imagery from MOC/MGS and the MRO camera instruments and lower resolution MOLA topography. Examples will be presented demonstrating the capacity and benefits resulting from merging and comparing HRSC on Mars Express imagery with other data sets.
