Kurzfassung
According to the title of this lecture, two subjects will be covered, both of which are traditionally part of the technical discipline Aeroelasticity. Aerothermoelastic effects are becoming increasingly important when aerospace systems have to be designed for the high supersonic or even the hypersonic speed range. It will be shown how aerodynamic heating leads to structural changes and consequently to changes of the aeroelastic behavior. A phenomenological description of the interaction between the structure and the aerodynamic and the thermal loads will be given, as well as means of coping with aerothermoelastic problems. Dynamic testing is comprised of a wide range of experimental tools that have been developed to verify the structural design and to ensure the performance and life expectancy of aerospace systems. In this context, special emphasis will be placed on advanced system identification methodology, as well as structural dynamics qualification concepts.
