Abstract

With a 3D-Navier-Stokes code differences between the isolated, axisymmetrical flow fields of an actual engine and its TPS are calculated. The influence of the turbine jet on the external flow is shown. Recommendations for the main simulation parameters are given. The potential for improvements of the TPS-technique is described. A TPS with an optimized flow-field simulation quality is presented.
