Abstract

The scattering of NO molecules from the single crystal surface Ag(111) is described within the framework of the scattering kernel formalism. Based on the results of molecular beam experiments, a reciprocal scattering kernel is constructed which takes into account the observed coupling between the translational and rotational degrees of freedom of the scattered NO molecules. This scattering kernel can be regarded as an extension of a recently proposed kernel for simple gases.
