The direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method is applied to rarefied free jet flows past a disk. The flow conditions are given by experiments, where the influence of the gas-surface interaction on the rotational state distribution of NO near the disk surface was investigated with the laser induced fluorescence (LIF) technique. Several flow characteristics depending on three different implemented gas-surface interaction models are studied which are essential for the interpretation of the LIF measurements.
