On request of ETW GmbH the potential of using the Moire interferometer technique for measurement of model deformation, in particulat twist and bending of the wing has been investigated. Due to experiences gained with a set up already in use and a powerful software package for evaluatjion of interferograms it could be demonstrated that the application of such a system in ETW will be feasable. The special technique allows to overcome difficulties arising from the influence of density gradients on image distortions.Thus, bending will be obtained with an accuracy better than 1 mm, twist along the whole wing better than 0.03 o. Qualitative results will be obtained on-line with 20 Hz, quantitative results will be available in real-time. The requirements were met in a global manner. With a small amount of further development all specifications and amplitude distributions of vibrations will be attainable.
