Abstract

Optical recording of transient phenomena plays an essential role in experimental fluid dynamics. Due to the progress achieved in electronics the conventional photographic methods are being replaced in many applications by electronic illumination and framing techniques. This paper describes the contribution of the authors to electronic high speed imaging. Various applications of CCD sensors and light emitting diodes as well as control units necessary for computer aided high-speed recording setups are presented.
