Abstract
Unreliable data channels deteriorate the performance of multiple access schemes. Results of an analytical comparison of the Slotted Aloha scheme including capture with a demand assignment procedure are reported on the basis of measured satellite channel data. An adaptive version of CSMA is analysed assuming full connectivity.
