Abstract

For the SIR-C/X-SAR (Space Radar Lag-1) mission the expected image performance for selected sites related to the best suitable radar settings according to the nominal orbit was evaluated before the mission. The corresponding software tool is explained in detail. A further software tool used during the mission is also explained in detail. The purpose ofthis tool is to analyze the quality of the high rate data *off-line) and to assess the quality of the echo profile in order to allow, if necessary, the Performance engineer to optimize the echo profile in real-time.
