Abstract

Path integrated rain rates and drop size distributions derived from polarimetric radiometer measurements show good agreement with rain gauge and distrometer measurements. Rain rates obtained from volume integrated polarimetric reflectivity measurements fit the radiometer values well. However, this is not the case for the drop size distributions, which show a noticeable departure.
