Abstract
The focusing issue of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging of ocean waves is studied by using SAR data obtained by the Experimental SAR-System of DLR (E-SAR) over the North Sea during the SAXON-FPN experiment in Nov. 1991. The SAR data obtained at two different flight levels (1000 m and 2800 m) in two different flight directions (parallel and antiparallel to the sea waves) are processed. A table comparing the velocities corresponding to optimum focus setting is given.
