Abstract
This paper investigates the nonlinear plasma effects on characteristic antenna parameters. The dipole antenna in a compressible space plasma serves as model radiator. The fundamental equations of electro- and hydrodynamics are used to derive an exact integral representation for the coupled electromagnetic and electro-acoustic fields via the formulation of the boundary value problem of a dipole antenna in a compressible plasma. Critical threshold values for the electric field strength are derived in order to define the transition from linear to nonlinear plasma.
