Abstract

Paper discusses the feasibility of a SAR design capable of a greatly increased swath width, uitilising the technology developed for the ERS-1 satellite. The instrument would be a contender to be flown on the European polar platforms. The application would be for global surveillance of the oceans and coastal regions and to augment the wind scatterometer instrument.
