Abstract
A computer-driven apparatus-test for the selection of air traffic controllers is described. The development of the test based on the need for a test for ATC-applicants which puts emphasis not only on the multi-tasking ability in dynamic complex tasks but on the learning potential of the applicant as well. The test procedure therefore includes two runs in a simplified ATC-Simulation with a standardized feedback-phase in between. The paper presents an overview of some results of a five years research program concerning the DAC and describes the experience after two years of implementation of the DAC to the test batteries for DFS and EUROCONTROL controller selection.
