Kurzfassung

Over the past three decades, the Nuclear Technology Laboratory at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) has made extensive use of in situ gamma-ray spectrometry to assess gamma dose rates in environmental, industrial, and medical environments. Utilizing primarily portable high-purity germanium detectors, the laboratory's research has focused on the direct determination of photon fluence rate energy distributions, allowing for accurate dose-rate assessment under real field conditions. Scintillator and passive detectors were also employed in selected studies. The present article provides a comprehensive summary of this long-term research effort.
