Kurzfassung

Maritime traffic simulations are an essential part of what-if analysis based risk assessment as well as business continuity management. However, only a few microscopic-level approaches exist. Within this paper we propose a conceptual adaptation of the optimal steps model (OSM) from crowd mod- eling to the maritime domain. Therefore, we highlight existent similarities between the domains and suggest adaptations for the OSM to comply with maritime navigation regulations.
