Kurzfassung

This lecture introduces the basic formulations of 2D unsteady incompressible aerodynamic models. Canonical solutions (Wagner's function, Küssner's function, Theodorsen's function, Sear's function) are presented. For the controller design, various rational function approximation (RFA) methods for the transformation of the unsteady aerodynamic forces from frequency to time domain are discussed. Finally, the aerodynamic model is extended by structural degrees of freedom and aeroelastic state space models suitable for controller synthesis are formulated. A Matlab/GNU Octave script is provided that implements the frequency domain aerodynamic model, the RFA, and the full aeroelastic state space model.
