Abstract

This presentation summarises current activities in an ongoing research project at a transonic centrifugal compressor rig at DLR Cologne. Here the PIV measurement technique is used to further improve the understanding of the complex flow phenomena in the diffuser region. The study includes phase-resolved measurements inside a diffuser vane passage with respect to the impeller blade position. First results of parameter studies are presented herein.
