Kurzfassung
Current innovations in jet engines, particularly promising Open Fan architecture, aim to increase efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. However, the Open Fan's propeller-like design creates significant harmonic noise and vibration, requiring advanced noise reduction strategies.
This article proposes a method to streamline research by shifting noise reduction assessments from full-scale testing to the component level. This approach uses reduced finite element models and laboratory transmission loss tests on isolated panels instead of full cabin experiments. The key is the accurate reproduction of the operational loads that the panels experience. By measuring panel responses in the Acoustic Flight-Lab (AFL) via laser vibrometry and using inverse identification, specific operational loads in terms of nodal forces are determined. These loads can afterwards be used in simulation environments and also synthesized in a laboratory setup, allowing for efficient, component-level evaluation of noise control systems for future aircraft.
