Kurzfassung

Climate change, population growth, and global demographic changes are increasing the risk of waterborne pathogens, creating new challenges for public health and critical infrastructure.[1] Therefore, drinking water systems are vital yet vulnerable, necessitating constant monitoring. The use of Clickmers (chemically modified aptamers with excellent robustness, adaptability, and sustainability properties) opens new possibilities for more efficient and reliable water quality monitoring. The planned project aims to develop a detection technology for pathogenic, water-associated microorganisms based on the binding of Clickmers. The method uses fluorescent markers and nanostructured materials to generate an immediate, visual signal.
