Kurzfassung

Thema A DLR develops a SOPHOS-Prototype-Processor in the scope of the SOPHOS project. This processor has only been tested by processing simulated data up to now. Because of this, writing a program that would read in raw data from Sentinel-1 and reformat it into a format that can be processed by the SOPHOS Prototype-Processor was necessary. To do this, the binary raw data, as well as various metadata had to be adjusted and reformatted. Additionally, ESA requested to be sent data from the GabonX campaign in the cloud optimized GeoTIFF format, instead of a DLR internal format. Therefore, a program had to be written, which would automatically reformat the data and take over any existing Geo-information. This report will document the work on these programs, as well as the validation of their results.

Thema B The second part of this report consists of three work packages: DLR wants to release a command-line tool for the geocoding of SAR data, which should be simple to use and process the data in a way which would not set the hardware requirements to high. To do this, the data is processed in blocks instead of as a whole. The main part of this report deals with the geocoding in CARAMBA, a framework for the processing of SAR data. An algorithm had to be developed here to mitigate the aliasing effects occurring because of the geocoding. This was achieved using lowpass filters, as well as interpolation. As the last part, the algorithm developed in CARAMBA was used on complex SAR data and the results were analysed, to see if this algorithm works on this kind of data or if a new filtering algorithm has to be developed for that.
