Kurzfassung

This thesis focuses on the development of a time-resolved simulation tool for the preliminary planning and assessment of hydrogen supply chains for maritime applications. The tool models the entire supply chain, from the generation of renewable electricity in an offshore wind farm through offshore hydrogen production, transport, and storage to the refueling of ships. Based on hourly wind data, various configurations of the supply chain can be simulated and evaluated in terms of hydrogen availability, energy demand, and the overall energy balance. The modular structure makes it possible to adapt individual components and system parameters to different locations and supply chain configurations. Two case studies for Heligoland demonstrate the applicability of the developed tool and examine the influence of different system configurations and operating conditions. The results confirm the potential of the tool as a flexible approach for the preliminary assessment of hydrogen supply chains for maritime applications.
