Kurzfassung
In Summer 2025 MTG-S/UVN (Sentinel-4) was launched into a geostationary position to observe the air quality over Europe with an hourly temporal resolution. Compared to previous missions Sentinel-4 offers new insights in the atmospheric chemistry. The data retrieval however shows new challenges. The retrieval is based on the DOAS analysis for the slant column densities and an iterative AMF calculation. Relative to previous mission some smaller improvements are integrated. We will discuss the Sentinel 4 ozone retrieval and the respective innovations. Moreover, we will show first comparisons with GOME-2 and TROPOMI. The total ozone products of these two missions are well characterized and well suitable for such comparisons.
