Kurzfassung
Electricity systems with high shares of variable renewable energy increasingly face challenges related to residual load coverage, grid stability, and security of supply as conventional thermal generation declines. While numerous studies address individual technical, system-level, or regulatory aspects of these challenges, integrated assessments that jointly examine these dimensions remain limited. This short communication addresses this gap using Thermal Storage Power Plants (TSPP) as an example of a multi-service technology.
