Characterization of the material failure in aluminium specimens for various triaxiality factors and material thicknesses

Kurzfassung

This test campaign focuses on the mechanical behavior of aluminium alloys with a particular focus on the triaxiality dependency of instability and failure. This report documents the experimental work performed for the material characterization based on samples. The experimental campaign encompasses quasi-static tests on tensile specimens, shear specimens and notched specimens. The experimental tests results lead to the establishment of material cards for finite element simulations. In the following, the steps in experiment and simulation are documented and the results are presented. The work has been performed at DLR BT-SIN in Stuttgart.
