Kurzfassung
The satellites TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X are operated in close formation since 2010 to acquire synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images for scientific and commercial applications as well as for global high precision digital elevation models (DEMs). Since 2020, and even more since 2022, the GPS receivers of the satellites have been affected by signal interference, that is limited to certain geographic regions, but very persistent. This paper describes the GPS receivers, how they are affected and which measures have been taken recently to mitigate the impact on the running satellite missions.
