Abstract
The presentation describes and compares experimental measurement techniques suitable for outwash measurements, particularly performed during full-scale flight tests of rotorcraft or eVTOLs. Based on certification requirements and practical examples, the presentation provides guidelines for the sensor selection in terms of measurement accuracy, frequency range and resolution, and measured velocity components. It is argued that ultrasonic anemometers are currently the best sensor option.
