Kurzfassung
This volume contains the papers presented at the 24th DGLR/STAB Symposium, which was held in Regensburg, Germany on November 13 – 14, 2024. The event was organized by the Department of Biofluid Mechanics at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg. STAB is the German Aerodynamics/Fluid Mechanics Association (Deutsche Stroemungsmechanische Arbeitsgemeinschaft) founded in the late 1970s, and DGLR is the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics (Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Luft- und Raumfahrt–Lilienthal Oberth e. V.). The mission of STAB is to foster aerodynamic research and its appreciation in Germany. This is achieved by creating forums for scientific discussion and by disseminating the latest research results, thereby promoting scientific progress and avoiding unnecessary duplication of research. STAB brings together scientists and engineers from universities, research institutes, and industry. They present research and project work in numerical and experimental fluid mechanics and aerodynamics for a wide variety of fields, such as aeronautics, space, ground transportation, wind turbines, and other applications. This format also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange information on numerous joint research activities supported by various funding agencies.
The first symposium was held in 1979 in Munich, and since 1986 it has taken place every two years at different locations in Germany, all having an affinity with fluid mechanics and aerodynamics. In addition, STAB workshops are regularly held at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum fuer Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) in Goettingen in the intermediate years. Both, STAB symposia and workshops, provide excellent forums for the presentation of new research activities, often resulting in new collaborative research and technology projects. This is the 15th time that the proceedings of the symposium have been published, following a thorough single-blind peer review process. The organizers received 95 contributions of which 79 were accepted for publication in the conference proceedings.
Each paper was reviewed by at least two independent experts in terms of correct content, comprehensibility, novelty, and significance of the presented results. Nevertheless, the authors are responsible for the content of their contributions. The editors would like to thank the reviewers and all those involved in the organization of the symposium for
their excellent work.
