Kurzfassung
In this paper, a hybrid structure composed of a printed circular dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) mounted on a microwave feeder circuit designed with commercial laminates is proposed for satellite communication applications. The antenna was optimized using Ansys HFSS, where its input impedance was evaluated for different parameters using a Smith chart. The simulated dual-band linearly polarized single element operates from 18.3 to 21.5 GHz and from 27.7 to 30.3 GHz, corresponding to bandwidths of 3.2 GHz and 2.6 GHz for the Rx and Tx links, respectively. The proposed antenna was fabricated and measured, demonstrating good performance in terms of S-parameters and radiation patterns. The measured results indicate bandwidths of 2.67 GHz and 3.9 GHz for the K and Ka bands.
