Kurzfassung

Denying anthropogenic climate change is increasingly difficult in the face of catastrophic events such as heavy rainfall and heatwaves. Significant CO2 emissions, particularly from energy production, are key drivers of climate change. The transition from fossil fuel-based to renewable energy production is expected to be gradual, with renewable energy becoming a critical resource during this period. Efficient management of energy distribution is essential, given the finite nature of available resources, and energy consumption must be carefully monitored. However, reducing energy consumption alone is insufficient. For example, passenger processes at airports are sensitive to operational changes. Measures to reduce energy use may unintentionally impact other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), leading to unforeseen challenges. Optimizing overall operational efficiency could, therefore, reduce energy consumption without compromising system performance. This paper presents a methodology for evaluating the efficiency of passenger processes by simultaneously considering multiple KPIs. The method assigns weights to individual KPIs to reflect varying stakeholder priorities and combines them into a composite metric for process evaluation. The weights are determined using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a robust and flexible decision-making method. An extension incorporating Fuzzy Logic accounts for subjectivity in expert weighting preferences. Practical examples demonstrate the applicability of this approach, enabling stakeholders to make informed operational or investment decisions based on their priorities.
