Feasibility Study of Space Based Solar Power Generation for Human Exploration Missions

Händel, Kilian (2025) Feasibility Study of Space Based Solar Power Generation for Human Exploration Missions. Masterarbeit, University of Bremen.

Dieses Archiv kann nicht den Volltext zur Verfügung stellen.

Kurzfassung

This thesis aims to analyse the feasibility and risks of this approach on a technological, economic and environmental level to answer the question, if power generated from orbit could be a viable option for colonies on other celestial bodies. For this I have to observe different deployment strategies, concerning layouts of the satellites and their orbital placements, as well as possible implementations of ground stations. These must be analysed in terms of economic viability, involved risks and technological readiness. The developed concepts then need to be compared to their existing and practised solutions for power generation.
