Kurzfassung
In order to evaluate the potential of different electrified aircraft propulsion system topologies, accurate and efficient sizing models as well as performance evaluation techniques are necessary. To accommodate for this, the presented study introduces a comprehensive methodology for electric machine sizing and performance estimation. Therein, static and dynamic modelling approaches are combined to investigate both steady-state operation as well as the transient behaviour. The dynamic model is verified against the already validated static one and both models are used for the simulation of a realistic test case from the liter- ature, showing very good agreement for the steady-state operation phases while highlighting key differences during transient operation. Based on these results, the presented study en- ables a detailed static and dynamic performance analysis of electric machines while coupling it to the sizing process.
