Kurzfassung
As the aviation sector advances toward hybrid and all-electric propulsion systems, managing electromagnetic interference (EMI) is of critical importance to ensure safety and reliability. Power electronic devices in electric powertrains generate EMI that can disrupt avionics, communication systems, and other aircraft electronics. Components of electric propulsion system can also be susceptible to EMI from other aircraft system, while external EMI sources, such as lightning strikes, add further risks. Addressing EMI during the preliminary design phase of electrified aircraft, while maintaining power quality, safety and reliability, remains a significant challenge. This paper provides a comprehensive qualitative and partially quantitative analysis of predicting EMI sources and sinks during the preliminary design phase, emphasizing component and topology selection strategies to enhance aviation safety in electrified propulsion systems.
