Kurzfassung
The paper presents a new approach for a hierarchical task analysis. The conducted task analysis is part of developing future advanced assistance and automation systems for small single-piloted high performance and large two-piloted airplanes. The new approach represents a holistic and systemic method for an operational and functional breakdown of a complete flight as well as a coherent linking of operational contexts with aircraft specific operating procedures and concrete atomic functions, i.e., pilot actions and activities. The atomic functions are used as base for a reassessment of current tasks when operating an airplane. The reassessment aims investigating future automation potentials, particularly, a flexible task allocation between pilots and automation. The hierarchical task analysis was performed in the project DARWIN, that is funded by SESAR Joint Undertaking, using the example of the Dassault Falcon 2000EX.
