Abstract
The paper describes investigations done on the development of CFRP-jackets for combustion chambers. Two different concepts are presented. The main difference in the concepts is the requirement on the jacket of sealing the coolant to the environment. First, recent results for a concept requiring this sealing are shown. Second, preliminary design investigations on a composite overwrapped combustion chamber are shown. The proposed concept uses filament winding to manufacture the jacket directly onto a AMmanufactured CuCr1Zr-liner. A preliminary design tool is presented and used to analyze the load situation in the coupled system of liner and jacket. The results of this investigation are promising, so further planned developments are briefly shown in the end.
