Abstract

This talk summarized the activities for the development of the electrodeless plasma propulsion concept at DLR, focusing on the development of the Advanced Linear-field Vector Excitation Network, aka ALFVEN. The ALFVEN thruster concept demonstrates the capability for applications as an atomic oxygen source and as an air-breathing electric propulsion concept.
