Kurzfassung
We developed and pre-tested local overhead nozzles which are just operated in recirculation mode. Pre-tests in the DLR’s generic train laboratory revealed local cooling effects of up to 10°C while consuming only about 5W of energy. Further, the tests revealed that pre-conditioning of the air for these nozzles is not needed since the cooling effect of the higher air velocity dominated. At the conference, we will present results on the integration of these concepts in a stationary long-distance train laboratory (DIRK) as well as 3D measurements of the local air velocity around thermal passenger manikins. Additionally, the thermal comfort was evaluated for various configurations by means of the equivalent temperature.
