Abstract

Time-resolved temperature-sensitive paint was used to determine surface temperature distributions in a transitional subsonic, compressible boundary layer. A high temporal resolution of 20 kHz enabled the determination of instantaneous heat flux distributions and visualise and characterise isolated turbulent spots.
