Abstract

The separation of a turbulent boundary layer developing over a flat plate at nearly-zero pres-sure gradient was experimentally studied in the Large water-tunnel Braunschweig. The meas-urements were conducted via Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) by Shake-The-Box in the re-gion downstream of a backward-facing ramp, which induced a turbulent separation bubble. The examined Reynolds numbers, based on the ramp location, were in the range 1.2 to 2.7 million.
