Kurzfassung
The increasing air traffic in the future is expected to exacerbate congestion in the current VHF band digital aeronautical communications systems. To address this issue, the international standardization of the L-band Digital Aeronautical Communications System (LDACS) is underway. LDACS is designed to provide faster and more secure digital aeronautical communications compared to existing systems. However, the current LDACS standards do not incorporate multi-antenna technologies. Integrating these technologies, widely used in modern wireless communications systems, into aeronautical communications has the potential to achieve higher speed and reliability. This study explores the feasibility of applying multi-antenna technologies to LDACS, focusing on beamforming at ground stations as a practical approach within the scope of current standards. In this report, simulation results demonstrating the potential benefits of this application are presented.
