TerraSAR-X Total Zero Doppler Steering Tables for TerraSAR-X

Abstract

This Technical Note defines the Total Zero Doppler Steering tables for TerraSAR-X. All underlying geometrical and coordinate system conventions are explicitly given in this document to allow the satellite manufacturer to perform a cross check with the conventions applied in the satellite. However, all conventions used in the calculation of the Total Zero Doppler Steering law are taken from [AD - 2]. There may be new versions of this document since a change in the reference orbit causes a change in the Total Zero Doppler Steering law. However, the changes are expected to be small and it will be decided in the individual case if an update of the Total Zero Doppler Steering law is required. This document specifies the tables to be stored on-board of TerraSAR-X in the “Launch-Configuration”. This Technical Note is an annex to the TerraSAR-X Space to Ground ICD, i.e. any change in the tables has to be communicated and agreed between ASTRIUM and DLR. Note, a later up-date via table upload to the TerraSAR-X satellite in orbit (via software patch) is always possible. This document is taken in major parts from [RD- 3].
