Abstract

To understand how factors like charging infrastructure development influence battery electric vehicle (BEV) adoption, this study uses several models to examine the relationship between these factors and BEV stock shares over the past ten years. A mixed-effects model is employed for panel data analysis, offering insights into the role of charging and other variables. Results indicate that charging-related factors, such as the population served by chargers and access to home charging, are both significantly and positively associated with BEV stock shares. Other variables like improvements in BEV range, access to home charging, income, and age also play important roles in BEV adoption.
