Abstract

Conceptual aircraft design is covering a large design space initially with a low fidellity. Particularly comperative analysis is of interest for different designs. The DLR tool CASCOT (CPACS-based Aircraft Stability and COntrol Tool) is requiring minimal input regarding aircraft data, mainly geometry. With a very low computational effort it is possible to identify tendencies, major effects and shortcomings at early design stages. The input format is CPACS (Common Parametric Aircraft Configuration Schema). CPACS is an XML-based open source common exchange format for multidisciplinary aircraft design.
